Arts organisation Tanio tasked me with creating an aspirational piece of work to be installed at Tanio hq at their parti nadolig, christmas party. My idea was inspired by recent celestial activity, meteor showers, supermoons and the aurora borealis. I worked with both English and Welsh local primary schools - Year 4, Bettws Primary School and Year 6 Ygol Gynradd Gymraeg Calon y Cymmoedd. The title I gave the piece was The Sky’s the Limit/Tu Hwnt i’r Gorwel. Each child made a paper bag star and worked collaboratively to paint a supermoon and two 7ft x 5ft canvases featuring the northern lights. At the party the children and their families enjoyed the lit up installation together with hot dogs, hot chocolate and marshmallows, a local choir, a band and a visit to Santa. I have delivered a variety of taster Art sessions during Adult Learners Weeks at Port Talbot Library. In these sessions we have explored drawing, collage and painting.
